I did my piece on Sunrise TV last friday- it’s here if you want to see it!
For those of you without fast internet, these are the main points we covered:
The key to finding someone online is to follow some pretty simple rules.
1. Be honest in your profile. Work out what you are looking for and state it directly. Put everything in a positive note. A pile of “I don’t want this or that” is a huge warning sign
2. Put your photo up. And make it a good one. (Keeping it relatively natural – and no ex’s or cars or piles of cats in the shot!)
3. Work out the style that fits you best. Some prefer to talk for a long time, others like to meet up fairly quickly. I’ve done both depending on the person
4. No matter what you have talked about, when you meet, treat it like a clean slate. and be careful to get to intimate fast. Online communications can really feel amazing- then you can meet the person and realise their online persona is nothing like their real life one.
